Then the Blessed Virgin took her by the hand, and led her to a house exceeding fair, which was built of square stones deeply laid, and which had no window, yet which within was full of light.

Mechthild of Magdeburg

Select Revelations of S. Mechtild (1875), page 99

Mechthild describes a house with no window, and light inside it. Nothing comes in from outside and nothing is lit from without, and still it is full. Light appears out of nothing here. It does not need an opening to arrive through.
